Primavera Gallery Home – San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
San Miguel de Allende was voted the best place to live in the world for two years in a row, as described here and here. The city is beautiful in the daytime and equally beautiful at night.
At Primavera Gallery Home you’ll have your own private patio and garden.
This Gallery Home is a great place to relax amidst artwork by talented Mexican and international artists. Below painting is by Gerardo Ruiz. The antique Shiraz Persian Rug was made in the 1940s.
Below, the light sculpture, “Imago,” is by Australian-Indian artist Sutopa Parrab. The painting “El Nicho” is by San Miguel artist Gerardo Ruiz, who has a gallery at Fabrica la Aurora.
The light, double-height balcony space opens onto the main living area.
Quiet Safe Location. This location is much quieter than the center of town, but there’s easy access to downtown whenever you want. The townhouse is one block from the Casa Primavera Boutique Hotel and Spa, where you can enjoy the hotel dining room, pool, massage and spa, and entertain guests nearby.
Primavera Gallery Home with Private Patio & Garden. Sleeps five. The king bed can be split into two twins on request. The mattress is European memory foam
The upstairs double bed has a handmade organic cotton mattress.
There is an additional twin bed in the terrace office pictured below (not a private room but with its own terrace).
The house is behind the Hotel Casa Primavera in a quiet, private complex with its own public park.
The house has a private garden that attracts hummingbirds, doves and other birds.
The garden features night light sculptures by Indian-Australian artist Sutopa Parrab. Below is “Glyph” and below that “Bard’s Tale.”
For nearby breakfast, besides your own kitchen and the hotel, there’s also a café through the iron gate a block down the street. It’s an easy walk to the Tuesday Market (a true Mexican experience) and Luciernaga Mall, which has banks, ATM, Soriana Grocery, coffee houses, Office Depot, cafés, Liverpool Department Store (Mexican equivalent of Macy’s) etc. There’s a large pharmacy half a block beyond the bus stop. La Comer, a short taxi ride downhill, is one of the best grocery, takeout, and household furnishing stores anywhere. Everything you need is in one place.
Indoor Parking for One Car in the garage. Park other cars along the quiet street. The big advantage here is that parking is easy and it’s easy to get into downtown San Miguel. You avoid fighting the heavy traffic in the downtown area. You can catch a bus back up the hill (#7, #8, #9) for a few pesos and it stops very close.
Above and below in the foyer are prints on aluminum by Australian-American artist Seana McNamara: “Goya’s Forest” and “Badger.”
TRANSPORTATION is easy & inexpensive. You will not need a car here because there’s easy access to transportation.. Taxis charge a flat fare (a few dollars US) for daytime trips anywhere in the city. They charge slightly more at night or if you call them. Public buses stop two blocks from the house on Avenida Real Salida a Querétaro and all bus routes (#7, #8, and #9) go straight to the center of town for 7 pesos (US 35 cents) from that same Avenida.
Though you can walk to and from town, we’re atop a steep hill.
So take a taxi or bus unless you’re a hiker. Ask the hotel to call you a taxi and wait in the lobby of the hotel for your taxi. Or hail a taxi on the main street Avenida Real Salida a Querétaro, Or call a taxi to come to the house.
From the Flower Market to the Toy Museum, there’s lots of life and creativity.
NOT TO MISS. Be sure to visit Fabrica la Aurora, which has been converted into a large complex of artists’ galleries, cafés and shops. Taxi is easiest, though one bus into town and another (#6) out to Fabrica will get you there. Saturday the organic market, Mercado SANO, is fun, with great food to buy and eat there, plus lively musicians.
When you book Primavera Gallery Home, we’ll send you a guide with lots of other recommendations, from great restaurants to cultural events.
